Hazel Eko is an actress/singer/teacher based in LA/NY.

Primarily raised in South Central LA, she grew up singing in her church choir, which prompted her love for being onstage. Throughout middle school and high school, she performed in multiple musical theatre productions. Hazel has also worked as an educator in high school theatre productions and youth theatre companies, such as TADA!, teaching vocal and acting lessons. Hazel is currently pursuing her BFA in Drama and minoring in Educational Theatre at NYU, trained under the Atlantic Acting School. She is also the founder and the Artistic Director of The South Central Collective, a theater company based in Los Angeles that creates and produces artistic opportunities within various theatre fields to expand representation and access to artists of color.
Hazel is a curious, soulful, and passionate storyteller; she enjoys exploring the depths of the human soul and capturing the most vulnerable and hidden parts of ourselves to bring to light through any character. She believes that the purpose of her art is to break beyond the idea of right and wrong, and instead just let it be true. Her goal is to encourage upcoming storytellers to continuously look deeply at the complexities of humans, without the lens of a moral compass, and provide audiences the space to feel comfortable relating to the uncomfortable. Hazel’s heart is in her eyes and they always have a story to tell.
When Hazel is not onstage or teaching, you'll find her going on spontaneous adventures with friends, at the gym, or binge-watching movies with a large box of pizza.
